Thomas Brandenburg is the Lead Service Design at CDK Global, a leading provider of integrated data and technology solutions to the automotive industry. He is also a Chicago Chapter Board Member and Accreditation Committee Member in the international professional organization for service designers, the Service Design Network.
Thomas is a graduate school alumni of IIT Institute of Design. After graduation, he committed himself to be both a design practicer and a design educator. Thomas is a Lead Instructor for Interprofessional Program that helps undergraduates work to be effective problem-solving teams to create new concepts for services and experiences. Some of his successful past IPRO partner engagements with student teams as been with the Kohl Children’s Museum, the Lincoln Park Zoo, and the Shedd Aquarium.
Before arriving at IIT, Thomas was a lead environmental and communication designer for museum exhibitions. Prior clients include The Field Museum of National History and the 9/11 Memorial Museum.
What I love about IPRO
My favorite part of teaching is helping students develop a must-have professional skillset, how to work in collaboratively dynamic teams. And to help them realize a vision for a future—creating concepts and prototypes for innovative human-centered services and experiences.
