Register Here to Volunteer as an IPRO Day Judge
IPRO Day is an event during which all of the semester’s IPRO teams display their work through a 20-minute presentation and an exhibit. The teams are evaluated throughout the day by a panel of professionals, alumni, faculty, and graduate students, and at the end of the day, the teams they have selected as the best receive awards.
There are two options for volunteer judges at IPRO Day: presentation or exhibit evaluation. Both begin with a one-hour orientation meeting before the start of the IPRO Day competition. Afterward presentation judges follow a set schedule until early afternoon, while exhibit judges evaluate team projects in a trade show-type setting on an open schedule that can be completed in as little as 2 hours. The competition is followed by a reception and awards ceremony.
Judges are grouped in teams, with a chief judge providing guidance. Each judging team is assigned to a track, which has 3-8 IPRO projects that all focus on a similar topic. IPRO Day track topics can include:
- Applied Research and Development
- Information Technology Solutions
- Process Improvement
- Sustainability
- Service Learning
- Venture Development
Volunteer judges at IPRO Day are able to network with other professionals who are passionate about education, engineering, and design while interacting with some of the most talented students in the U.S. and learning about cutting-edge research at IIT. Join us this semester to find out what IIT students can do!
